About Solid Credit

Credit reports were built for institutions

We’re rebuilding the experience for people.

Solid Credit is a credit health company built to help you understand what’s really on your report and take action to improve it.

Why we exist

Credit affects real life. It shouldn’t be a maze.

Your credit report affects where you live, what you pay, and which financial options you have. But, the information is scattered across Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, buried in dense reports, and filtered through apps that deliver more advertisements than clarity.

People deserve better than that. Solid Credit was built to make credit more understandable, more honest, and more useful for the person whose name is on the report.

What we believe

Three principles guide what we build.

Simple
01 — Simple
Simple
Plain English, clear next steps, and education connected to what's actually on your report. Credit should feel understandable, not intimidating.
Honest
02 — Honest
Honest
You'll never get a score guarantee, a surprise paywall, or an ad pushing a loan. We charge clearly and don't serve ads, so our incentives stay aligned with our members.
Effective
03 — Effective
Effective
Real progress, not promises. We help you review your reports, flag potential errors, and take legitimate next steps with accuracy and follow-through.
The Solid Credit founders
Built by people who know credit

We’ve spent two decades inside the credit industry.

Our founding team helped build credit products used by millions of people, including the credit-builder tool at Credit Karma. After years working inside the system, we kept coming back to the same problem: the people whose lives are affected by credit often have the least clarity and control.

Solid Credit is our attempt to change that — with tools we wish existed for ourselves and our families.

Eric Burton

“I grew up seeing how credit and money stress can touch almost every part of life. I’ve spent my career working on those problems, and I’m building Solid Credit for my family and for everyone like them, people who deserve better tools, clearer information, and a healthier, less stressful financial life.”

Bernardo Menezes

“I’ve been in fintech for 15 years now. You can now get a loan in seconds, bet on anything you can imagine, design your own credit card, trade options on your phone and buy a burrito in installments... but the average person still has a horrible time understanding and managing their credit. It’s shameful.”

Co-Founder & CTO
Rodrigo Menezes

“What I’ve learned is that the industries everyone writes off as too messy are exactly where technology does the most good. Credit is the clearest case: it feels like alchemy to most people, even though it influences so much of our lives. It doesn’t have to be this way.”

Founder story

A personal mission...

Helping people understand and improve their credit is personal for Eric. He grew up in Central Texas around the kind of financial stress that shapes everyday life: the car you drive that might break down at any second, the mail you avoid opening, and the choices a family has to make when there isn’t enough room to make ends meet.

After college, Eric landed a job offer at Capital One. Then the offer was rescinded because of medical bills he didn’t know were sitting on his credit report. He had a full-time job lined up and a future he was ready to start, until a confusing credit system got in the way.

Those experiences stayed with him. Credit information shapes real opportunities, and too many people are left to navigate it without any real or honest help.

That is the heart of Solid Credit. We’re building for people who deserve better. People who want to understand their credit and get the guidance they need to be successful, without hype, fear, or breaking the bank.
